Elżbieta Tabakowska

Elżbieta Tabakowska is Professor of English Linguistics specializing in Cognitive Linguistics and translation theory. She is also known for translations of Norman Davies into Polish. Between 2002 and 2012, she was the head of the UNESCO Chair for Translation Studies and Intercultural Communication at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow. She is also a member of Collegium Invisibile. She has edited various volumes of collected scientific works and authored numerous scientific articles and monographs. Noteworthy monographs include Tłumacząc się z tłumaczenia (2009), Językoznawstwo kognitywne a poetyka przekładu (2004), O przekładzie na przykładzie. Rozprawa tłumacza z Europą Normana Daviesa (1999), and Gramatyka i obrazowanie. Wprowadzenie do językoznawstwa kognitywnego (1995).
